Believers in Bangladesh help their community

At the time of Covid-19 lockdown the village receives much needed help. Most people are day workers and when they can’t work, they don’t eat.

To be honest, there is talk that this will last for about 18 months, till 2020. A recent Harvard study proposes intermittent lockdowns till 2020. Neil Fergusson, an epidemiologist from the Imperial College in London, in modeled factors of disease outbreaks (“Poverty, death, and and future influenza pandemic,” “Capturing Human Behavior,” “Impact of NPIs to reduce COVID-19 mortality and healthcare demand”), predicted and modeled the acceptable levels of outbreaks. According to his predictions, we are not going back to normal: “…things won’t go back to normal after a few weeks, or even a few months…” – every country needs to “flatten the curve” – impose social distancing to slow down the spread of the virus so that the number of people sick at once doesn’t cause the healthcare system to collapse… That means the pandemic needs to last, at a low level, until either people have had Covid-19 to leave most immune… or there’s a vaccine. Solution they propose is: impose more extreme social distancing measures every time the cases spike and relax them every time the admissions begin to fall. In their chart they project spikes of outbreaks till end of 2021.

There is also the spiritual side. Please refer to Isaiah 26:20. It might have some relevance for us today. We need to recognize the times—there is time for everything. Remember that when the pharaoh hardened his heart, each following plague got worse. However, God’s people were provided for and safe in their homes. These are supernatural times.
