BANGLADESH: LOCKDOWN, FLOOD, FAITH COMMUNITIES

7/31/20

The May cyclone (Super Cyclone Amphan) was a major disaster for Bangladesh. However it wasn’t the end of the problems. Unfavorable weather with heavy rains followed till now. Large parts of the country are under water, causing mass migration and devastation of crops in the flooded fields. Our faith communities are not exempt, struggling to manage life under the quarantine, with rebuilding of homes, and working on new agricultural projects we helped to sponsor to support the faith communities—rice and vegetable fields. It’s been a difficult time, with attacks against the believers, government threats and demands that they leave their homes with nowhere to go. People have been going through famine. We try to help as much as we can, while asking ourselves, how do you live your own life when you hear such news? We are currently looking for new jobs, and for God’s direction in our lives. How do you live? The answer: God is faithful, fixing our eyes on Him, trusting the Lord with all of our hearts, and continuing on.

Below is a current photo journal from the latest food distribution. Two more communities accepted Jesus: one Hindu and one Muslim. The Word of God grows in Bangladesh, to the glory of the name of Yeshua/Jesus!

YOUR SUPPORT IS STILL VERY MUCH NEEDED IN BANGLADESH. PLEASE DONATE!
